How There for You uses face checks, in plain words.
What a face check is
, our ID partner, compares the selfie video from your ID check with the photo on your ID, and with your profile photo.- To do that, makes a scan of your face's features. tells us only yes or no. We never keep your ID, the selfie video from the ID check or any face scan. Your profile photo stays on your profile, as always.
- We use the answer only to check it's really you and that your profile photo is you. We never sell it, share it for advertising, or use it for anything else.
- You can withdraw in Settings at any time. Without face checks we can't check your ID, so new introductions stop. Everyone you already know here stays.
What's collected
The selfie video from your ID check, the photo on your ID, your profile photo, and a scan of your face's features made from them (the law calls this biometric information). collects and compares them for us. Only to check that you're a real person, that your ID is yours, and that your photo is you, so members can trust who they're talking to. Nothing else: no advertising, no tracking, no training, no recognising you anywhere else.
Your agreement first
No face check happens until you've ticked the box agreeing to it. We record when you agreed and which wording you saw. You agree for yourself; nobody else can agree for you.
Who sees it
, which does the checks. We never sell, lease, trade or otherwise profit from it, and never share it with anyone else unless the law requires it, for example a court order.What we keep, and for how long
We keep only the yes or no results with your account, and delete them when your account is deleted. If you withdraw, no new face checks happen.
How it's protected
Pictures we send to for a check travel over an encrypted connection, and we don't keep a copy of anything from the ID check.

You can withdraw any time in Settings, under “What you've agreed to”. Face checks stop straight away. Without them we can't check your ID, so new introductions stop, but everyone you already know here stays.
